WHAT IS GIVE IT! GET IT!:  It’s a fun filled charity event bringing South Bay’s local talent together for one night to help build awareness for the Sarcoma Alliance.

A little something about me:

Hi, I’m Jennifer Capo. I live in Manhattan Beach. I was diagnosed with a cancerous sarcoma 3 years ago. No one I talked to, at the time, knew what a sarcoma was…not even my doctor. It was difficult to find information about this rare disease. We found that it’s a cancer that affects the connective tissue in a person’s body (men, women and children). This makes it tough to diagnose. Mine appeared as a fatty tissue bump on my left wrist.

It was a shocker for me to hear the word ‘cancer’ because my mother passed away from cancer at a young age of 43, and I received the news of my diagnose on her birthday. It was a huge punch in my heart. Not only was I afraid, but embarrassed. Will people treat me different? Will they label me a cancer patient? What if it doesn’t go away?

Today, I am in complete health and have a strong desire to speak up and build awareness for the organization bringing support for this cancer. As a result, I created an event to rally the community people, fashion, sponsors, and business together for one night to benefit an organization that reaches out to people like myself. I’m ready to “GIVE IT”…and by doing so…”I GET IT”. Join the fun for a good cause.
